Amboseli is the only place on Earth where you can watch enormous elephant herds walk in single-file lines across open plains—with the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro towering behind them
AMBOSELI NNP ITINERARY
Welcome to Amboseli: Africa’s Iconic Wildlife Canvas Nestled at the feet of majestic Mount
Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park spans approximately 392 km² and offers one of the most
breathtaking safari backdrops on the continent. Known as the “Land of the Giants,” this
extraordinary destination is home to vast herds of elephants— some of the largest tuskers
you'll ever encounter—set against the silhouette of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak . Declared
a national park in 1974 and later recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1991, Amboseli
is a mosaic of swamps, open plains, acacia woodland, and dried-lake beds—a haven for wildlife
and over 350 bird species. Its unparalleled visibility and diverse habitats make it one of the best
places in Africa to witness close-up wildlife encounters, especially during the dry season (June
October), when animals congregate around permanent waterholes. On your 22–25 August
adventure, you’ll wake at dawn to rising mist, sip bush coffee as the sun casts golden light
across the plains, and spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras—and maybe even rare big
tuskers—with Mt. Kilimanjaro towering overhead. As the day unfolds, serene lodge meals,
cultural moments with the Maasai, and twilight drives culminate under a sky full of stars. This is
Amboseli: wild, spectacular, and unforgettable.
